Dov Ofer

Dov Ofer joined Lumenis as Chief Executive Officer in April 2007.  Prior to his appointment at Lumenis, Mr. Ofer served as Corporate VP and General Manager of HP-Scitex.  Until the acquisition by HP,  Mr. Ofer served as the President & CEO of Scitex Vision Ltd., and previously managed Matan Digital Printing, one of the pioneering companies in the super-wide format printing industry.  Dov Ofer holds an MBA degree from University of California at Berkeley and a BA degree in Economics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.


 




Aviram Steinhart

Aviram Steinhart joined Lumenis as Chief Financial Officer in December 2007. Before joining Lumenis Mr. Steinhart served as Corporate Vice President Finance at Alvarion Ltd (NASDAQ: ALVR) a world leading provider of WiMAX and wireless broadband solutions. Prior to joining Alvarion, Mr. Steinhart held several senior financial positions in both US and Israeli technology companies, including Unigraphic Solution, a leading global provider of product lifecycle management, and Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd., a leading company in software solutions for manufacturing. Mr. Steinhart has a B.A. in Accounting and Economics from Haifa University and an M.B.A from Tel Aviv University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.




Lloyd Diamond

Lloyd Diamond joined Lumenis as Senior Vice President, General Manager of Surgical Strategic Business Unit in April 2007. He will be responsible for managing the Surgical Strategic Business Unit worldwide. Mr. Diamond’s professional experience includes over 15 years in medical device marketing. He recently served Laserscope as Vice President of Urology Marketing. Previously, Lloyd held several marketing and management positions which included international responsibilities at leading medical global companies. He has successfully managed change in both turn-around and start-up business situations. Lloyd holds a BS Degree in Biochemistry and Marketing, as well as a Masters in Business Administration from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona.




Dale Koop

Mr. Koop joined Lumenis as Senior Vice President, General Manager of the Aesthetic Strategic Business Unit in October 2007. Mr. Koop has over 20 years of management experience in the laser industry. Prior to joining Lumenis he held the role of General Manager at Sciton. His previous experience includes roles as Vice President of Research and Development at the Industrial Laser Division of Siemens, Business Development Manager at Coherent Medical where he started Coherent’s Aesthetic Business Unit and their market for laser skin resurfacing; CEO of Lightwave Electronics; and President at CoolTouch Corp where he launched their market for non-ablative skin rejuvenation. Mr. Koop holds a PhD in Physics from Caltech, and BS degrees in both Biology and Physics.




Amnon Harari

Mr. Harari, currently Senior Vice President of Research and Development, previously was Vice President of Europe upon joining Lumenis in August 2004. Prior to Lumenis, he served as General Manager of Advanced Heating Technologies, Chief Executive Officer of Partner Future Communication Ltd., General Manager of Alcatel Israel, and General Manager of Tadiran Telecommunication’s Public Switching Division. Mr. Harari is also a retired Brigadier General of the Israeli Air Force, and last served as head of the Israeli Air Force Material Directorate. Mr. Harari holds a BS degree in Physics from the University of Tel Aviv.




Mickey Segev

Mr. Segev joined Lumenis as Senior Vice President for Global Operations in October 2007. Prior to joining Lumenis, Mr. Segev held various senior positions with General Electric (GE) Healthcare based in the USA, amongst these Head of the Global Processes and Operations for the Life-Sciences Division leading the integration of the former Amersham group into GE, and General Manager of Global Fulfillment and Global Supply Chain Operations at GE Medical Systems. Prior to joining GE, Mickey was with ELGEMS (formally Elscint) in Haifa, Israel, where he served in diverse roles in Customer Support, Marketing and Operations. Mickey was a submarine commander in the Israeli Navy, retiring with the rank of Commander (Lieutenant Colonel). Mr. Segev holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science, an MBA in Industrial Management and a Bachelors in Electronics Engineering, all from the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel.




Gideon Sturlesi

Mr. Sturlesi joined Lumenis in November 2007 as Corporate Vice President Business Development. Prior to joining Lumenis, Mr. Sturlesi was the founder and general partner of BioMedical Israel Ltd., a life-science private fund group, heading successful M&A processes, turn-arounds and “hands-on” management in its portfolio companies. In addition, Gideon was a Venture Partner in the Ofer Hi-Tech Group, a leading investment company in life science technology-based businesses from pre-seed through early stages to public offerings. He was also the co-founder of Galil Medical Ltd., a developer of minimal invasive devices for use in urology, general surgery and other applications. Gideon Sturlesi holds a BSc and MSc (cum-laude) from the Technion Institute of Technology, Israel, and holds over 7 patents and publications in medical device technology.




Robert Mann

Mr. Mann joined Lumenis as President, Lumenis America in January 2007. A seasoned executive with extensive background in sales, marketing and business development, Mr. Mann has enjoyed a highly successful career spanning over 25 years. Until recently Robert held the positions of Group Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for Aesthetic and Surgical Products, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for North America of Laserscope. Prior to joining Laserscope, Robert was National Director of Sales and Operations at a leading national chain of Dermatology and Plastic Surgery Centers.




Eckhard Lachenauer

Mr. Lachenauer joined Lumenis as President Lumenis Europe in August 2007. Mr. Lachenauer brings with him a wealth of valuable experience in our industry and in senior leadership roles. Among his prior positions, at Boston Scientific Corp., Eckhard was President, Europe and subsequently Division President, Urology, Worldwide. He also served as General Manager of Operations, Europe and Vice President & General Manager, Asia with GE Medical Systems Information Technology. At other companies, such as Biotronik AG in Switzerland, Eckhard Lachenauer was VP, Vascular Intervention, Worldwide; and at Becton Dickinson Corp. in France he was Division President, Diagnostic Systems, Europe. Mr. Lachenauer holds an MBA degree from the University of Heidelberg, Germany and speaks several languages including English, French, German and Thai.

 

 

Alex Tanaka

Mr. Tanaka joined Lumenis as President of Lumenis Japan in June 2007, and brings to the company many years of experience in sales and business development within the medical equipment industry. Prior to joining Lumenis, Mr. Tanaka served as Operating Officer of Fukuda Denshi in Japan for Global Operations; and as President of Fukuda USA in Seattle, Fukuda UK in London, Kontron Medical in France. Mr. Tanaka also served in various managerial positions for GE Medical Systems Asia, such as Acting Director of BMD Lunar Business, Clinical Value Creation Group, and as Product Manager of the Ultrasound Diagnostic Imaging Division. Mr. Tanaka is a graduate of Aichi Prefectural University in Japan.




Qiying Zhai

Mr. Zhai, currently President, Lumenis China and APAC, joined Lumenis in 2001 as part of the Coherent Medical Group and ESC/Sharplan merger. He started China’s Coherent Medical operation in 1992, and managed it through the merger with ESC/Sharplan.




Nelson RCP Mendes

Mr. Mendes joined Lumenis as President for Latin America and the Caribbean in July 2007. Prior to his appointment at Lumenis, Nelson Mendes held various marketing, sales and product related management positions for over 18 years at G.E. (General Electric) , serving as General Manager for G.E. Healthcare Surgery for Latin America where he was responsible for the implementation and development of the Business Unit, VP of International Operations for G.E. OEC Surgery, and the Global Leader of Surgical C-Arms covering G.E.’s OEC’s global operations. Mr. Mendes holds a degree in Engineering from Escola Politécnica of São Paulo University in Brazil with post specialization in International Business.




Shlomo Alkalay

Shlomo Alkalay was appointed Lumenis’ Vice President of Global Service in April 2007.  Mr. Alkalay joined Lumenis in 2002 as Chief Information Officer and led the company’s Global IT Operations until March 2004, when he assumed the position of Vice President of Global Manufacturing.  Prior to joining Lumenis, Mr. Alkalay served as the Vice President of Business Development for Israel’s largest commercial and naval fleet supplier.  He also served in the Israeli Navy for 24 years, lastly as a Commander managing large-scale industrial and manufacturing engineering projects.  Mr. Alkalay holds a BS Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology with honors, and an MBA from Haifa University.




Frances (Fran) Harrison

Mrs. Harrison joined Lumenis in August 2007 as Global Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and has over 20 years of experience in Regulatory, Clinical Affairs and Quality Assurance. Prior to joining Lumenis, Ms. Harrison was Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, of C.R. Bard Urological Division. During her career at companies including SulzerMedica, The Gilette Company, and Corning, Nichols Institute Diagnostics, Frances Harrison was responsible for regulatory compliance, clinical strategic planning and protocol design, including domestic and international submissions, and extensive experience in obtaining PMA, 510(K) clearances, PMA supplements and IDE approvals. Ms. Harrison holds a BS in Chemistry from San Diego State University and Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC). She currently serves on the Board of Editors for Regulatory Affairs Focus, the professional journal of the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society.




Ruth Shaked

Ms. Shaked joined Lumenis as Vice President of Human Resources in January 2005. Prior to Lumenis, she served for 8 years at NetManage Ltd., where she was responsible for international human resources. Prior to that, Ms. Shaked served at Intel Ltd., in human resources management and in resource development at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. She is a graduate of Columbia University's Barnard College in New York.




William Weisel

Mr. Weisel joined Lumenis in June 2007 as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. During the 15 years prior to joining Lumenis, he served as Counsel to Steel Hector & Davis in Israel, Vice President and General Counsel for Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd, and General Counsel of ADC Teledata Ltd and of Scitex Corporation Ltd. Prior to that, Bill worked in a Los Angeles law firm for several years as a litigator. A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Loyola Law School of Los Angeles, Bill is a member of both the State Bar of California and the Israel Bar.
